François Lumpp believes in the potential of this vineyard for powerful red wines, especially with the right plant material. When he acquired an additional sizeable chunk of this vineyard in 2010 he pulled out the existing vines to replace with a finer Pinot. The soil is light clay with little stones, and is one of François Lumpp's preferred terroirs.
